Guizhou Time and Space Cultural Tour

There is hardly a province in China as magical as Guizhou, where a long ethnic civilization and world-leading technological wonders blend perfectly.
Experience the rich history of Stone Town, explore a vibrant Miao village, and witness cutting-edge technology at the world’s largest radio telescope. This tour is a journey through time and space, shuttling between Guizhou’s past and present, suitable for curious people like you. We provide personalized services to meet your unique needs and expectations.

Travel Itinerary

Welcome to Guiyang! Your private guide will meet you at the arrival hall of the airport/train station and transfer you to your hotel by private car.

Qingyan Ancient Town is a sturdy stone-walled and remote town that was a refuge for revolutionary soldiers during the Anti-Japanese War (1937-1945).
The town is guarded by a miniature “Great Wall”. If you are energetic, you can climb up and have a bird’s eye view of the whole city.
The villagers live in the back of the town. Going further inside, you can taste the villagers’ delicious snacks, stroll casually on the hidden paths, and enjoy the tranquility in the shade of ancient trees. This is a world of stone.
In the afternoon, start your city walk from Jiaxiu Pavilion, a landmark building in old Guiyang. Hidden in the concrete jungle, this pavilion cleverly straddles a calm river. It was once a source of inspiration for poets. Many precious masterpieces from different eras are collected here for you to enjoy.
After bidding farewell to the ancient and exquisite temple, continue forward and come to a building from the Republic of China period, which combines Chinese and Western architectural styles. Who is the owner of this big villa? What happened?
Listen to the forgotten stories told by your guide while drinking coffee.

Skyscrapers are just the tip of the iceberg of China’s new large-scale data centers. If you don’t visit FAST (Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Radio Telescope), you may not be able to feel how advanced Guizhou is.
FAST looks like a huge iron pot from above, with the world’s largest aperture of 500 meters in diameter and an area equivalent to 30 football fields.
However, since it was just opened to tourists in 2016, there are still not many English signs and illustrations there. Your guide will tell you more about FAST in the museum.

Tired of modern city sightseeing? Maybe it’s time to escape the hustle and bustle and visit wild villages deep in the mountains and forests. Guizhou is home to dozens of China’s 55 official ethnic minorities. The Miao people are a large ethnic group with many branches, so the culture is diverse.
Most Miao people are hospitable and capable. So don’t be surprised if they welcome you with a bowl of special rice wine at the entrance of the village. They are proud of their homemade winemaking technology and are happy to share these products with you. If you really don’t want to drink, your guide will help you solve it.
The villagers in the deep mountains and old forests have limited resources to live on, but they are good at using the resources at hand, such as making paper from wood pulp. Now there is a village where villagers are still following the footsteps of their ancestors and making paper by hand.

The village you are going to visit today is famous for its batik and military-style clothing. Seeing that it is not red paper couplets hanging at the door, but dyed cloth, it can be seen that batik is highly valued in the local area. Locals use indigo to dye white cloth and wax to draw totems to express awe and worship.
You will have the opportunity to walk into the dyeing workshop and learn step by step how to make exquisite batik; then participate in the whole process.
After lunch, visit another unique Miao village, known for its miniskirt costumes and centuries-old creative food storage methods.

Your guide and driver will take you to Guiyang Airport and assist you with check-in.
